About Us
We’re Friends of Cedarvale, a small not-for-profit organization dedicated to maintaining and improving Cedarvale Park and Ravine. Since 2012, we’ve come together to organize park cleanups, remove invasive species, host guided nature walks, and collaborate on initiatives that protect and keep this special place thriving.Today, Friends of Cedarvale is run by a volunteer Steering Committee of five passionate members: John Cummings, Ivor Simmons, Valentina Gastaldo, Rachel Gottesman, and Aubrey Spring. Our group also works closely with organizations interested in caring for the park, ravine, and the neighbourhood such as Toronto Parks, Forestry and Recreation, Councillor Josh Matlow’s office, Toronto Nature Stewards, Green Neighbours Network and Local Enhancement and Appreciation of Forests.
